History of Nguti Municipal Council
- Establishedin 1967, became operational in 1968.
- The Balong, Mbo, Bakossi, and Bassosi ethnic groupstrace their origins to Mwan Ngoe, believed to have originated from the Bangem area.
- The municipality consists of 54 villages, each with its own chiefdom(2 second-class chiefdoms and 52 third-class chiefdoms).
